Rapper Snoop Dogg has told Celtic's board he is willing to invest in the club and wants former manager Ange Postecoglou brought back. In an exclusive interview, the 54-year-old American said he has discussed investing in the Glasgow giants before and would be interested if the opportunity arose.
“I don’t know about coach, but as an investor sure,” Snoop said. “Celtic is a huge club and fans want to see the best players playing in this great stadium. All the owners have got to do is ask.” The musician, worth an estimated £120 million, became a Celtic fan after being given a shirt in 2005.
Commenting on Brendan Rodgers’ recent departure and Martin O’Neill’s interim appointment, Snoop said: “I love sport, and in sport players leave, coaches leave, and you move on. You got to give Martin O’Neill big respect, he is coming back when we need him. I think you got to bring Ange back.”
The rapper’s remarks come as frustrated fans have held protests against the board. Majority shareholder Dermot Desmond had labelled Rodgers’ conduct “divisive” after his exit. Snoop, who recently became a co-owner at Swansea City, insisted he could help keep supporters happy if involved with Celtic.
