Scottish Punter Wins £440,000 from 50p William Hill Bet

A lucky gambler has turned a 50p each-way Lucky 31 bet into a staggering £441,913 after all five of his selections won on the opening day of the Flat season. The William Hill customer placed the online wager at 10:30am on Saturday morning.

The bet included Migration at 18-1 in the Pertemps Lincoln at Doncaster, Bear Force One at 20-1 at Kempton, and Astral Beau at 40-1 in the Listed Doncaster Mile. Despite a 45p Rule 4 deduction in the latter race, the punter still netted the life-changing sum.

William Hill spokesman Lee Phelps said: 'It was certainly a brilliant Saturday for one of our customers, whose 50p each-way Lucky 31 won them over £440k. All five selections won, including Migration at 18-1 in the Lincoln, and after Astral Beau won well, they were celebrating taking home £441,913.'

The winning run began with Foxes Tales at 4-1 in the Magnolia Stakes at Kempton, followed by Bear Force One, who had not won in six starts since August 2021. Vadream then scored in the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster, before Migration's last-gasp victory under Benoit de la Sayette. Astral Beau, the final pick, revelled in the heavy ground to complete the accumulator.
