Harry Maguire is being linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League as his Manchester United contract runs down. The 32-year-old defender, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for a world-record £80million fee for a defender, is out of contract in June and has attracted interest from Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq.
United triggered a 12-month extension in his deal last summer, but the club are not expected to offer him fresh terms as they plan for the future. Maguire will be free to open talks with overseas clubs from January 1, and a switch to the Middle East would likely bring significant wages.
Speaking in August about his contract situation, Maguire said the club had made it clear he could not leave on any terms amid enquiries from other clubs. He added that discussions would take place over the coming months about whether they would extend his stay or allow him to move on.
Maguire, who has won 64 caps for England, has been left out of the current squad by head coach Thomas Tuchel. His chances of featuring in next summer's World Cup appear uncertain as he fights to regain his place.
If he were to join Al-Nassr, he would be reunited with former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for the Saudi club.
