Brentford captain Nathan Collins has warned Liverpool that his side will 'throw the kitchen sink' at them in Sunday's Premier League finale at Anfield, as the Bees chase European qualification. The Reds need just a point to secure a top-five finish and Champions League football, but Collins insists Brentford will not roll over.
Speaking after Brentford's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace, Collins said: 'We threw the kitchen sink at it. We'll give it our all and we'll have a right good go at them.' Head coach Keith Andrews echoed the sentiment, stating: 'The one thing you can guarantee from our team is they give everything. We've had a very special season which could become even more special next weekend.'
Liverpool currently sit fifth, three points above Bournemouth with a superior goal difference of +10 compared to +4. The Cherries would need to win at Nottingham Forest and hope Liverpool lose by a seven-goal swing to overtake them. However, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola remains optimistic: 'Can we take the last Champions League spot? Let's maximise our options.'
Brentford sit ninth, just outside the European places, and are level on points with Chelsea and one behind Brighton. Victory at Anfield could see them leapfrog into a Europa Conference League spot, adding extra spice to the encounter.
