Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool appears secure after manager Arne Slot confirmed the winger will not be leaving in the January transfer window. The Egyptian international had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia following a public fallout with Slot earlier this season, but the Dutchman has insisted that the pair have resolved their differences and that Salah remains an integral part of his plans.
Salah was dropped from the starting XI for three consecutive games, leading to accusations from the player that the club had 'thrown him under the bus'. However, Slot held peace talks and the winger has since been reintegrated into the squad. When pressed on a potential January transfer, Slot said: 'I think you already know the answer to that,' effectively ruling out a mid-season move.
A transfer to the Saudi Pro League had been mooted, with Al-Ittihad having previously lodged a £150m bid for Salah in 2023. Clubs such as Al Hilal have also shown interest, but Sky Sports reported in December 2025 that SPL sides would need a clear indication from the player before submitting a formal offer. With Salah under contract until 2027 on £350,000 a week, any move is now more likely to happen before the 2026/27 campaign rather than this month.
Salah's performance this season has dipped slightly compared to last term, when he scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists to help Liverpool win the Premier League title. So far this campaign, he has managed five goals and five assists in 1,768 minutes of action. However, Slot's continued faith in the 33-year-old suggests he remains a key figure at Anfield for the foreseeable future.
