Axed Rangers manager Russell Martin was seen enjoying a sauna and wild swim in Loch Lomond just two days after being sacked by the Ibrox club. Martin, who lasted only 123 days in the job, was dismissed on Sunday following a fan protest that forced his escape.
On Tuesday, the 38-year-old was spotted in Luss, stripping to his trunks and plunging into the loch after a sauna session with his girlfriend, former model Lucy Pinder, 41. The couple posed for selfies at the same spot where Martin had taken his Rangers squad wild swimming weeks earlier.
An onlooker described Martin as “quite happy, upbeat and chipper,” adding: “He doesn’t look too despondent considering what’s happened over the last few days.” The witness noted that Martin and Pinder appeared romantic, cuddling and sitting on benches overlooking the loch.
Martin, a vegan known for his love of ice baths and meditation, wore duck egg blue shorts for the dip while Pinder wore a black swimsuit. The former Southampton and Swansea boss is believed to have started dating Pinder last year.
Steven Gerrard is the fans’ favourite to replace Martin as Rangers manager.
