Al-Nassr took the lead two minutes into the second half through Angelo Gabriel, and Neom were reduced to ten men when Luciano Rodriguez was sent off for violent conduct after a VAR review. Al-Nassr were then awarded a penalty, which Ronaldo converted to score his 953rd career goal. Joao Felix added a third before Neom grabbed a late consolation.
The win maintains Al-Nassr's three-point lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League, their third consecutive victory and 14th in 16 games. Ronaldo, who joined the club in December 2022, is seeking his first major trophy at club level since leaving Manchester United.
After the match, Ronaldo posted on social media: 'Working on our dream!' He recently stated in an interview that scoring in the Saudi league is harder than in Spain's La Liga, where he spent nine seasons with Real Madrid.
