Rodrygo to Support Brazil at World Cup After ACL Injury

Rodrygo has announced he will travel to the United States to watch Brazil's World Cup matches, despite being ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury suffered in March. The 25-year-old Real Madrid forward described watching the squad presentation without his name as 'tough', but expressed optimism under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.

In a personal account, Rodrygo revealed the emotional impact of the injury, which required surgery and led to sleepless nights and pain. However, he said inner strength and support from family, Real Madrid, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), and teammates helped him cope. 'I am certain I will return stronger,' he stated.

Rodrygo recalled the disappointment of Brazil's 2022 World Cup exit after his penalty was saved by Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, and said returning to the tournament had been a dominant thought. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the team over the past four years and described missing the World Cup as a 'huge blow'.

Despite the setback, Rodrygo emphasised his pride in representing Brazil and his determination to continue pursuing his World Cup dream. He reflected on his first experience as a fan at a Brazil match in 2017 and the affection he has felt from supporters since wearing the national team shirt.

Rodrygo will continue his rehabilitation in the US while supporting the Seleção, aiming to recover fully and contribute to club and country in the future.
