Rio and Kate Ferdinand Host Dubai Fitness Event After Return

Rio and Kate Ferdinand have proudly displayed their athletic prowess and toned physiques during a recent fitness initiative in Dubai, marking their return to the region after previously evacuating due to escalating tensions. The couple, who are launching their new fitness venture One Body Co, organised a community workout that drew significant attention on social media.

Fitness Showcase in Dubai

Kate Ferdinand, aged 34, took to her social media platforms to share captivating footage from the event, which was held at the luxurious Jumeirah Beach Hotel in the United Arab Emirates. The workout session was completely free for participants to join, emphasising the couple's commitment to fostering community engagement through fitness.

Before the activities commenced, Kate flaunted her impressive washboard abs in a striking red sheer two-piece outfit, highlighting her midriff and setting a tone of confidence and vitality. For the main event, she opted for a stylish black Squatwolf two-piece gym set, complemented by a pair of Nike trainers, while Rio, 47, sported black shorts and a workout t-shirt emblazoned with the logo of their new business, One Body Co.

Engaging the Crowd

Both Rio and Kate wore headsets to communicate effectively with the assembled crowd, actively participating in physically demanding challenges on stage. Their performance not only demonstrated their durability and high fitness levels but also inspired attendees to push their own limits. In one particularly heartwarming clip shared by Kate, a beaming Rio pulled his wife in for a spontaneous selfie, capturing her radiant smile and the couple's evident joy.

Announcing the initiative earlier in the week, Kate had enthusiastically told her fans, 'We are hosting our FIRST @one.bodyco together community event this Friday at @jumeirahbeachhotel. Join us at 7:30am for a free workout, coffees and ice baths to leave feeling fully refreshed.' She further explained, 'We really wanted to create a space to move your body, clear your mind and reconnect with others. We hope to see you there.'

Return After Fleeing Conflict

This successful event follows the couple's recent return to Dubai after they fled the region last month. Kate described their departure as a 'nervous system reset', prompted by what they termed 'scary' Iranian drone attacks in the UAE. During the attacks, they were forced to seek shelter in their basement, leading to their decision to leave temporarily.

After departing Dubai, the couple first retreated to their holiday home in Portugal, then returned to London to attend to work and family commitments, before jetting off to the Maldives for a brief holiday. Their return to Dubai signifies a renewed sense of stability and commitment to their new fitness venture in the region.

Family Dynamics and Personal Reflections

Kate and Rio share a blended family, including their two-year-old daughter Shae and five-year-old son Cree. Kate also serves as step-mother to Rio's children from his previous marriage: Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 15. Their mother, Rebecca Ellison, tragically passed away from breast cancer at the age of 34 in 2015.

Shortly after relocating to Dubai, Kate expressed feelings of homesickness, stating, 'I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I get upset. I miss the big boys a lot and I'm just struggling with that.' She acknowledged the difficulty of the adjustment, noting, 'I know this decision is right for my younger children and as a family we are settled there, but the boys are following their football careers. So, they're doing what they want to do otherwise they'd be with us. But it's very hard because we've been through so much as a family and we've always been together and that's a huge adjustment.'

In a touching recent gesture, Kate marked her step-daughter Tia's 15th birthday with a sweet tribute on social media. She shared a snap of Tia in Dubai, looking out at the city's iconic skyline, holding a bouquet of flowers and pink and white balloons. Kate wrote, 'It's the biggest privilege to be your step mum and I love you more than words can describe. My special special girl. Me and you forever.'
