Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has hinted he could leave the club in the future, expressing a desire to play in Spain's La Liga. The 31-year-old Spain international, whose contract with the Gunners runs until 2028, has spent his entire professional career in English football.
Raya has been vital for Arsenal since initially joining on loan from Brentford in 2023. He has secured three successive Premier League golden gloves and helped the Gunners finally capture the title last season. The former Blackburn star also featured in Spain's World Cup-winning squad this summer.
Raya open to La Liga move
When questioned about whether he would be interested in playing in Spain, Raya told Marca: "Yes, I would love to, I would love to try La Liga. For now, I'm very happy here, but I would like to try the Spanish league."
He added: "I think it's a very competitive league. Maybe, in the future, I could play for a Spanish club. I'm Spanish and I would love to play there, that's for sure."
Arsenal eye Tresoldi
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi. The 22-year-old Germany Under-21 international has netted nine times in 12 appearances for the Belgian outfit this season, including a Champions League hat-trick against Inter Milan.
According to The Sun, Arsenal's interest stems from their reliance on Kai Havertz to lead the line in every Premier League fixture this season, with Viktor Gyokeres failing to make an impact when given opportunities.
Transfer valuation and competition
Tresoldi's valuation is understood to have climbed to approximately £42million after Brugge turned down a £30m bid from Roma. Arsenal would, however, encounter competition from AC Milan for the 22-year-old, who is a boyhood fan of the Italian giants.
Arsenal strengthened their squad with the summer acquisitions of Ezri Konsa, Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis, while failed attempts to land Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior and Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez show Mikel Arteta was keen to bolster his forward line.
