Rangers are set to return to Castore-branded kits and merchandise from next season, bringing the Umbro era to an end after just two campaigns.
The Ibrox club rekindled its relationship with Umbro at the start of last term, bringing the classic double diamonds back to their strips. However, the switch was only ever temporary, with the Gers now preparing to reintroduce the Castore wings as part of their long-term kit deal.
Castore's return confirmed
The Light Blues first teamed up with Castore in a landmark partnership in 2020. The old regime then quietly penned a bumper seven-year extension with the emerging sportswear brand in 2023, locking them into a partnership until 2030.
Since the start of last season, Rangers have sported Umbro branding under a sub-licensing deal allowing Castore to manufacture and distribute the brand's kits for select clubs.
Timeline of the kit agreement
Speaking at a recent fan engagement meeting, Rangers chief Andrew Cavenagh confirmed the Castore logo is scheduled to return to the first-team match kits for the 2027-28 campaign. That will see the familiar branding return to the Gers' jerseys for the final three seasons of the agreement.
It comes after Ibrox chief Paraag Marathe admitted at the August shareholders' meeting that the current custodians wouldn't have committed to the long-term retail deal. He said: "We would not have done that deal a year ago but the club came with that agreement in place and we're trying to work within it."
