Rangers sign Yokota, Celtic chase Ghedjemis, Guimaraes to Arsenal

Rangers have agreed a deal to sign Japanese winger Daisuke Yokota for a fee that could reach £3.4 million, with the player now a medical away from completing the move. The 26-year-old, who scored five goals and provided four assists for his 2. Bundesliga side last season, is set to join the Ibrox club on a verbal agreement worth an initial €3.3 million plus €700,000 in add-ons.

More new faces wanted at Ibrox

Manager Derek McInnes has called for more arrivals after Rangers opened their Premiership campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Dundee United. Following the loan enquiry for Scott McKenna, Olwethu Makhanya has already joined, but the boss wants further reinforcements. Talks have also taken place over a deal for Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry, while a loan move for Coventry City's Jahnoah Markelo has been linked.

Celtic eye Ghedjemis and more

Celtic began their season with a win but saw an opening offer for Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis rejected. The club are prepared to return with an improved bid. Meanwhile, Alistair Johnston is nearing a £15 million move to Everton, West Ham are in talks for Arne Engels, and a move for Mika Baur is proving tricky. Interest in Torino's Gvidas Gineitis has also been revived.
