The Los Angeles Rams have shown support for Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia following the death of his newborn daughter. Before Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks, Vesia revealed he had received a signed Rams jersey bearing the name 'S. Vesia' in reference to his late daughter, Sterling Sol.
Sharing a picture of the jersey on Instagram, Vesia wrote: 'Thank you to the @Rams for all the love and kindness. Cheering you guys on, bring it home!' The gesture was widely praised, with the Dodgers Nation X account describing it as an 'incredible gift' after resharing the post.
Vesia had stepped away from the Dodgers days before the 2025 World Series due to a serious family matter. He and his wife, Kayla, later announced that their daughter died on October 26. In a poignant Instagram post at the time, they wrote: 'Our little angel we love you forever & you're with us always. There are no words to describe the pain we're going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.'
Earlier this month, Kayla shared her first TikTok since the loss, expressing gratitude for the support she and Alex have received. 'I am really grateful for the community of you guys and just expressing your love and support with us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this,' she said, adding that she hopes to share her journey to help others facing similar grief.
Despite the Rams' defeat to the Seahawks on Sunday, the team's heartfelt gesture has been remembered as a touching tribute during a difficult time for the Vesia family.
