Chaos erupted at the end of Wednesday night’s Championship clash at Loftus Road as Oxford United manager Gary Rowett clashed with QPR defender Rhys Norrington-Davies, sparking a touchline melee between the two teams.
The incident occurred in the 92nd minute of a goalless draw. After retrieving the ball from near the Oxford dugout, Norrington-Davies barged into Rowett, leading to a heated exchange of shoving and pulling. Rowett’s backroom staff intervened to separate the pair.
Players from both sides surrounded the duo, with further verbal exchanges escalating as Rowett shouted along the touchline. The fourth official intervened and removed Rowett, while referee Ruebyn Ricardo issued yellow cards to both the Oxford manager and the QPR defender.
The result extended QPR’s unbeaten run to five games, while Oxford remain just above the relegation zone with only one win this season.
