Poll: Should Man United sack Carrick after Como defeat?
Poll: Should Man United sack Carrick after Como defeat?

Manchester United have won just two of their 11 games this season, and supporters are being asked whether head coach Michael Carrick should be dismissed after Wednesday's Champions League defeat to Como.

Poor Run of Results

United's only victories have come against newly promoted Ipswich Town and Champions League minnows Sabah. The club are already out of the Carabao Cup, have won just one Premier League game, and may yet add jeopardy to a Champions League format described as bereft of it in its new structure.

Despite a summer of optimism, United failed to sufficiently back Carrick in the transfer window, though their failings in the market cannot be blamed for everything going wrong this season.

Carrick's Position

Carrick has insisted he is the right man to drag United out of their current plight, recently claiming that he "loves this part when it's not quite going for you."

With much of the season still to play, the question is whether Carrick has enough credit in the bank from last season to warrant more time, or whether it is clear he is not the right man and United should make a change while the campaign can still be salvaged.

Fans are being invited to vote in a poll on whether Carrick should be sacked.
