Vitor Pereira has declared his confidence in steering Nottingham Forest clear of Premier League relegation, after being appointed as the club's fourth manager of the current campaign.

The Portuguese tactician has taken the reins at the City Ground on an 18-month contract, succeeding Sean Dyche, who followed Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou out of the exit door. This rapid turnover in the dugout marks a period of significant instability for the historic club.

Pereira, who previously managed Wolverhampton Wanderers and successfully kept them in the top flight last season, now faces a similar challenge with Forest. The team currently finds itself embroiled in a tense survival scrap, positioned just three points above the relegation zone with only twelve matches remaining in the season.
The new boss emphasised his forward-looking approach, stating, "I prefer to speak about the present and the future. But you know this is a difficult season for the players, because it's different methodologies, different managers."

"It's not easy, but I believe the reason why I accept this job is because I believe in the quality of the players, because I believe in the potential of this club, the ambition of the president," he explained.
He further reinforced his optimistic outlook, adding, "Of course, I believe that it's possible (to stay up). I believe that we can get points, results and quality in the games." This statement underscores his conviction that positive performances and crucial points are within reach for the struggling side.
