Cole Palmer Dismisses Transfer Talk After Hat-Trick Heroics for Chelsea
Palmer Dismisses Transfer Rumours After Chelsea Hat-Trick

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has emphatically dismissed swirling transfer speculation after delivering a stunning first-half hat-trick in the Blues' 3-1 victory over Wolves at Molineux. The England international, who netted all of Chelsea's goals, including two penalties, responded to rumours of a potential departure with characteristic bluntness.

Palmer's Blunt Response to Transfer Links

Following the match, Palmer addressed claims that he was homesick and considering a return to Manchester, with boyhood club Manchester United reportedly interested. Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, he stated, "Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don't they? I don't pay too much attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I've come from a strong place anyway so I don't pay attention to it."

Celebration Sends a Clear Message

After scoring his first penalty, Palmer notably abandoned his usual 'cold' celebration. Instead, he sprinted towards the travelling Chelsea supporters, covering his ears with his hands before blowing a kiss to the faithful. This gesture was widely interpreted as a direct response to the external noise surrounding his future.

Praise for Manager Liam Rosenior

Palmer also took the opportunity to heap praise on Chelsea's new boss, Liam Rosenior, under whom the team has maintained an impressive run. "Life under Liam is amazing, he gives us all confidence," Palmer explained. "Lets us be ourselves, play free. I'm sure when I'm back proper fit you'll see the best of me. Him and all the staff give us all confidence on the training pitch, with his strategies, the way we play... I really like it."

Fitness Struggles and Future Optimism

The midfielder's campaign has been hampered by persistent fitness issues, sidelining him for 21 matches across all competitions this season. However, he has recently featured in the last four fixtures, starting the previous two Premier League games. Palmer offered a candid assessment of his condition, admitting, "I don't think [I'm 100% fit] just yet. Obviously people don't know what goes on behind the scenes but being injured the whole season is not ideal and when I'm not able to perform as I want to because I've been injured, and still dealing with the injury, but hopefully I can get over the injury soon by managing it. I know what level I can provide when I feel 100% fit."

He elaborated further in conversation with Chelsea's official site, revealing, "I've never been injured before in my career. This is something new to me, and I'm still finding out how to deal with it. It has been frustrating, I don't feel like I've played a game this season fully fit. I've been going into games thinking, 'Can I do certain things? Can I not?' Overthinking it. The staff have been really good. I've been working closely with the physios on a day-to-day basis. They have all helped, and I'll get through it. I'm not here to make excuses, and I'll get over the injuries. I know what I can do when I'm fit, and hopefully I can get back to that soon. For now, I just manage it and get there."

This performance and subsequent comments firmly position Palmer as a key figure in Chelsea's plans, quashing rumours of an imminent exit while highlighting his commitment to overcoming fitness challenges and contributing to the team's success under Rosenior's leadership.
