Crystal Palace Boss Oliver Glasner Banned From Driving For Six Months After Speeding

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been handed a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding in South London. The 51-year-old was clocked by a speed camera on Old Kent Road in Bermondsey at 7:30am last July, travelling at 29mph in a 20mph zone.

Glasner wrote to the court to plead guilty, stating: "I fully accept responsibility for my actions and understand the seriousness of this matter. Due to the nature of my role, I will ensure I take the steps to address the issue." The Austrian's previous driving offences triggered an automatic ban, with a magistrate imposing the disqualification last week. He was also ordered to pay a £660 fine, £130 costs, and a £264 victim surcharge.

Glasner initially attempted to pay a fine to resolve the matter, but the additional points would have taken his total over the 12-point threshold, leading to the court referral. The news comes as Palace prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Thursday evening, with both sides in faltering form.

Palace sit 14th in the table with 35 points from 28 games, and are also competing in the Europa Conference League. Glasner, who led the club to their first FA Cup last season, announced earlier this campaign that he will leave at the end of the season. He has been linked with the Manchester United managerial vacancy.
