Liverpool have entered negotiations with Napoli over a swap deal for striker Victor Osimhen, offering the out-of-favour duo of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa. The Premier League champions are looking to refresh their attacking options ahead of their title defence next season.
According to reports, Liverpool have proposed exchanging Nunez and Chiesa for Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray. However, Napoli are demanding an additional £17m on top of the two players to complete the deal. Osimhen's contract includes a release clause of £64.2m.
Nunez has struggled at Anfield, scoring only five Premier League goals last season despite 30 appearances. Chiesa has also failed to impress since joining from Juventus last summer. Both players are keen to leave, with Chiesa particularly interested in returning to Serie A.
Osimhen, capped 40 times by Nigeria, scored 26 league goals for Galatasaray last season. He has been linked with Manchester United as well, with the Red Devils also interested in signing him this summer. Liverpool have other striker targets including Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, though the latter would require a bid of around £150m.
