Nine players could miss Crystal Palace vs Liverpool

Liverpool will be without a number of players when they travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday, with Ryan Gravenberch remaining an injury doubt for the Reds. Up to nine players could miss the Premier League clash.

Gravenberch a late decision

The Netherlands international was left as an unused substitute in last weekend's loss to Arsenal and did not travel for the midweek trip to Fenerbahce because of a heel injury. He has since been left out of the Netherlands squad ahead of the November international break.

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has admitted that the Reds will continue to assess Gravenberch before making a late decision on whether he can be involved against Crystal Palace after speaking to the player.

"The only doubt we will have is Ryan," the Basque said at his pre-match press conference on Friday. "The others will be the same as we have been.

"The Ryan Gravenberch thing is a day-to-day thing, it's a matter of pain. Let's see if he can deal with the pain and he can help us."

Long-term absentees

Beyond Gravenberch, Liverpool remain without long-term absentees Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike, while Jeremie Frimpong also remains sidelined with a muscle injury. Iraola had previously confirmed that he expected the Dutchman to return after the November international break.

The Basque previously shared his hope that Leoni would make a belated return to team training after the final international break of the calendar year following a delay in his recovery, while his latest update on Bradley suggested a return to team training was not far off for the Northern Ireland international. With Ekitike also aiming to be back before the end of the year, the Reds will be hoping they are entering the final straight in their respective rehabilitations in the forthcoming weeks.

Palace absentees

Crystal Palace will be without four first team players themselves. Former Liverpool transfer target Ismaila Sarr has been ruled out until after the November international break with an ongoing groin injury, while Jean-Philippe Mateta is suspended following his red card in last week's loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

Takehiro Tomiyasu has also been ruled out until after the international break because of a calf injury, while Chadi Riad is a long-term absentee because of a serious ACL injury. However, Pierre Saga expects Axel Disasi to be available after dropping him in midweek against Hoffenheim due to an 'internal decision'.
