Nine players will be sidelined for Manchester United's Champions League meeting with Roma at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, with Marcus Rashford among those ruled out.
United host the Serie A club in the league phase of the competition, aiming to end a run of nine matches without a win across all competitions. Michael Carrick's side lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend and have also lost their last two Champions League matches, against Como and Atletico Madrid, leaving the club in 20th place in the league phase standings.
United's injury list
Carrick confirmed Luke Shaw remains sidelined with an injury that has kept him unavailable for the past five matches. Marcus Rashford is also out after dealing with a thigh and hip injury.
"Luke definitely won't be around this week and fit at that point. Marcus, we'll just have to see day by day how he keeps improving," said Carrick.
Patrick Dorgu will also miss the match, despite being included in the squad. Carrick confirmed the wing-back has returned to training but will not feature at Old Trafford.
"His first day with the group, Pat, so great to have him back," said Carrick. "He's worked ever so hard to be back with the group, but he won't be involved tomorrow. We'll see how he progresses through the week really, but great to have him back."
United will also be without Benjamin Sesko and Manuel Ugarte, who are both unavailable with long-term injuries.
Roma's absentees
Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini has confirmed Lorenzo Pellegrini (hamstring), Paulo Dybala (calf) and Manu Kone (hamstring) will all be unavailable for the match. Goalkeeper Mile Svilar is also out while still recovering from a toe injury.
