The 2026 NFL season is into Week 5, and the latest passing yards leaderboard has been revealed after the fourth Sunday of play. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has dropped to ninth place with 1,037 yards, missing the Top 8 after a dramatic shake-up in the rankings.
Mahomes misses out despite Chiefs' perfect record
The Kansas City Chiefs sit at the top of the League table alongside the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers, with 4 wins and 0 losses at this point in the season. However, Mahomes has slipped to the ninth position in the rankings for the most passing yards this season.
The season commenced on September 9, with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the New England Patriots 13–10 at Lumen Field.
Young leads the charts
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is leading the charts with the most passing yards at 1,268, while his team sits in the middle of the pack with two wins and two losses. Although the Panthers haven't extended their star QB's contract just yet, with each passing game this season, it's seeming more like a question of when than if.
Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions is in second position with 1,214 yards clocked in just four games. The Lions have helped their team to victory in two games, and two losses see them slap bang in the middle of the League standings.
Stafford, Burrow, and Stroud round out the top five
The Los Angeles Rams' star QB Matthew Stafford is in third place at the end of Week 4 with 1,189 passing yards. Overall, the team has won two games and conceded victory in the other two. At 64 yards, Stafford has managed to secure the second-longest pass of the League season, just behind the Packers' Jordan Love.
Joe Burrow is on fire this season, as the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback clinched fourth spot in the most passing yards ranking after Week 4 with 1,171 yards under his belt. The Bengals have won two and lost two games, and Burrow's longest pass has been 32 yards.
Things aren't looking too hot for the Houston Texans at the moment, but it's a different story for their star quarterback, C.J. Stroud. Ranking fifth on the list with 1,141 passing yards up till now in the season, the 25-year-old is surely going places, even if his team is not — they have 4 losses and 0 wins.
Prescott, Love, and Allen complete the Top 8
Dak Prescott's 1,065 passing yards at the end of Week 4 places him in the sixth spot, with the Dallas Cowboys clocking two wins and two losses up until now in the NFL season. Heading into Week 5, Prescott is officially on injury watch after his hand was wrapped following the Cowboys' thrilling 34-30 win over the Houston Texans in Sunday's game.
Jordan Love is the quarterback with the longest pass in the Top 8 after Week 4, having completed an explosive 81-yard touchdown pass against the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener. Seventh on the rankings with 1,041 passing yards, the Green Bay Packers QB is having a stellar run. The Packers have won 2 games and lost 2 in the season till now.
The Buffalo Bills' star quarterback, Josh Allen, rounds out the Top 8 after Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season with 1,039 passing yards. The Bills have won 3 games and lost only 1, placing them close to the top of the leaderboard for this season.
