Racing expert Newsboy has pinpointed his standout selections for Monday's evening fixture at Wolverhampton, headlined by a strong fancy in the final race to complete a promising Daily Double.
Nap Selection Aims for Fourth Track Win
The spotlight falls on Colors Of Freedom in the Join The Midnite Movement Handicap at 8.00. Newsboy believes the mare is primed to secure her fourth career victory over the Wolverhampton course and distance.
Trained by Joe Ponting, all seven of the horse's wins have come on Tapeta surfaces, with her last three successes specifically over Dunstall Park's five furlongs. She races here off a favourable mark, carrying a British Horseracing Authority rating of 48, which is one pound lower than the mark of 49 she won from in June.
Arriving fresh from a runner-up finish in a classified stakes at the same track just last Friday, Colors Of Freedom will be partnered by Gina Mangan and will sport cheekpieces for the second time. Newsboy tips her to go one better this time around.
Next Best Fancied to Break Maiden Tag
Earlier on the card, Newsboy's next best (NB) comes in the shape of Aim For The Bull in the 5.00 race, a classified stakes contest.
The four-year-old, trained by Mike Murphy, showed good form just before Christmas when finishing a two-length second in a seven-furlong handicap at Southwell. A reproduction of that performance is expected to make him a major contender as he seeks a breakthrough victory at the 18th attempt. Callum Shepherd takes the ride.
