York Selections
Amiloc rates as a worthy favourite for the Group 2 Boodles Yorkshire Cup (4.05) as York's May meeting reaches its final day. Ralph Beckett's four-year-old scored at this level when capturing the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last June but escapes a penalty here. Rossa Ryan's partner finished second to Al Riffa in the Irish St Leger over a mile and three-quarters at the Curragh last September, and the return to the same trip should pose no problems for a horse who still has untapped potential.
Ed Walker and Kieran Shoemark are taken to gain compensation for a near-miss with Felicitas in Wednesday's Musidora Stakes when Synchronicity takes on six rivals for the Listed Sky Bet Fillies' Stakes (2.20).
The other Listed event on the card, the Design Tonic Out Of This World Spaces At The Races EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes (3.30), can go to Lover Girl. Karl Burke's Thunder Run has plenty going for his title defence in the Support Macmillan Charity Raceday On 13 June Handicap (2.55), while the consistent Shrodinger's Cat is expected to give another good account in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Handicap (4.40).
