WOODVALE can follow up a debut victory at Beverley with success in the Alan @ Sarah #Laughterloft Legends Novice Stakes (2.06) at Leicester today. The two-year-old is the latest winner to come from owner David Armstrong's successful breeding enterprise.
Woodvale's pedigree and form
By Armstrong's July Cup winner Mayson, Woodvale is a relative of Garswood, a Listed winner as a two-year-old for the same connections. Trained by James Tate, Woodvale overcame a slow start to finish strongly and score first time out over 5f last month and he can build on that effort to triumph again.
Later on the card RUBY WEDDING can prove a gem in the Paul @ Margo Barley Mow Cosgrove Farewell Handicap (4.26, NAP).
Ruby Wedding's recovery mission
Andrew Balding's filly was very much on an upward curve in the summer, winning at Hamilton and Salisbury, until the wheels came off in a valuable fillies race at the St Leger meeting. She ran far too freely under Oisin Murphy and, once headed with 2f to run, was eased, crossing the line 96 lengths behind the winner. Down in calmer waters and with apprentice Alfie Redman, taking 7lb off, replacing the champion, she can get back to winning ways.
Broadway Honey's quick return
Over jumps at Huntingdon BROADWAY HONEY can bring more sweet success for the in-form Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies in the Christmas Parties 2026 At Huntingdon Racecourse Novices' Handicap Chase (2.31, NB). The mare took her score to two wins from three starts over fences with an easy all-the-way victory in a conditional jockeys' race at Fontwell three days ago. Her trainers bring her out again quickly so she can run off the same mark unpenalised and the move should pay off.
