Newcastle's Sean Neave assists on first Wolves league start

Newcastle United youngster Sean Neave impressed on his first league start for loan side Wolves on Friday evening, setting up a goal in their 2-1 win away at Burnley. The 19-year-old started up front in the absence of Raul Jimenez and Adam Armstrong, and his clever left-footed cross found Fer Lopez, who volleyed past Burnley goalkeeper Gregoire Coudert to level the scores after Jamie Vardy had given the Clarets the lead.

Praise from teammate Fer Lopez

Neave has made a positive impression at Molineux so far but has had to be patient for his opportunity from the start. He made the most of it at Turf Moor on Friday, with Lopez taking to Instagram to lavish him with praise by posting: "What a player. My little kid, my protégé."

Meanwhile, Neave took to Instagram himself to say: "Assist and a first championship start. What a way to bounce back from the lads. We keep the momentum going and full focus for Tuesday."

Woltemade's mixed week at Juventus

Elsewhere, it was a mixed week for Nick Woltemade as he scored his first goal from open play for Juventus in their 2-1 win away at Spanish side Celta Vigo on Thursday evening before coming off the bench in their 3-0 defeat at home to Lazio in Serie A on Sunday. Woltemade had only scored one goal from the penalty spot so far this season, but capitalised on a heavy touch from Marcos Alonso in the Celta box to volley home and get Juventus level in the game before Randal Kolo Muani bagged a stoppage time winner.

He was dropped to the bench for Sunday's visit of Lazio but was brought on at half-time to replace Kerim Alajbegovic as Juventus looked to get back in the game. He was ineffective as they crumbled to a damaging defeat to leave them eighth in the Serie A table, eight points behind their opponents who are currently joint top with defending champions, Inter Milan. Woltemade spurned a glorious chance to level the game as Kolo Muani pulled the ball back to him on the edge of the penalty area but he side footed his effort wide of Christos Mandas' near post.

Other loanees' performances

Ousmane Diabate's positive development continued with Genclerbirligi, despite their 1-0 loss to Turkish champions Galatasaray on Saturday. According to Sofascore's ratings, the 18-year-old was the highest rated midfielder on the pitch, as he competed against former Premier League stars Mario Lemina and Gabriel Sara.

It was a tough night for Odysseas Vlachodimos, as the Greek international goalkeeper saw Real Madrid score four extraordinary goals past him at the Bernabeu in a 4-1 defeat, while elsewhere in Spain, teenage winger Antonio Cordero started in a 2-0 defeat to Granada that cost Cadiz head coach Albert Celades his job. Cordero's side are currently in the Segunda Division relegation zone.

It was a brighter weekend for Ireland under-21 international Alex Murphy who played on the left-hand side of a back three in Kaiserslautern's win over Bochum in 2 Bundesliga, and he is really beginning to find his feet in Germany. Rory Finneran started again for Notts County as they were beaten 2-0 by Wycombe Wanderers as they fell to 23rd place in the League One table, while Anthony Munda played 76 minutes of Swindon Town's 1-1 draw with Walsall in League Two. Harrison Ashby was unused in Luton Town's 2-1 defeat to MK Dons.
