Neville predicts Man Utd win over Leeds despite poor form

Gary Neville has predicted that Manchester United will beat Leeds United 2-1 in Sunday's Premier League clash at Elland Road, despite United's recent poor form.

United's turbulent week

Michael Carrick's side are winless in their last five matches in all competitions after a midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid. The loss was followed by defender Lisandro Martinez criticising the club's lack of ambition and spending during the summer transfer window. Martinez has since apologised and been fined for his outburst.

Leeds' strong season

Leeds have lost just one league match all season. Daniel Farke's side pushed defending champions Arsenal at the Emirates last weekend before losing late. Leeds also drew with United at home last January, a result that ended Ruben Amorim's tenure as head coach.

Neville's prediction

Despite United's patchy form, Neville believes his former side have enough attacking quality to win. Speaking on The Overlap, he said: 'I am going 2-1 Man United. To be honest, if you have Cunha, Mbuemo, Amad and Rashford, [you have a chance].'

Paul Merson disagrees, telling Sky Sports that Leeds fans would be 'shocked' if their side didn't win. 'This is a big, big, big football match. A big rivalry. And it's one of Leeds' biggest games,' he said. 'And if you're a Leeds fan, after the weekend, you'd be shocked if Man Utd beat them at Elland Road. Every Leeds fan would be disappointed if they didn't get a result against Man Utd this weekend.'
