Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester United's dressing room "definitely" had a "tear-up" and a meeting in the aftermath of Lisandro Martinez's public outburst over the club's transfer business.
The former United captain made the comments on Sky Sports after the Red Devils' 1-1 draw at Leeds on Sunday, a result that stretched the club's winless run to six matches.
Martinez's Outburst and Team Reaction
Martinez spoke to the press immediately after the game, stating that he expected more from director of football Jason Wilcox in the transfer market. Reports suggested that some team-mates shared Martinez's view over a lack of proper investment in the squad.
The defender's comments cast a shadow over the squad heading into the Roses Derby, with Neville believing the fallout was addressed internally.
Neville said on Sky Sports: "(Sunday was) a stepping stone, but we can't get carried away. It's because of what we thought might happen, but I actually thought they'd win today. I thought there would be a response."
Neville's Dressing Room Claims
"I think that dressing room has definitely had a tear-up, they've had a tear-up and they've had a meeting - 100 per cent. There's no way that they've not dealt with that Martinez issue," Neville added.
Amad Diallo added further fuel to the fire when he posted to his Snapshot story 'F*****g disgrace; I have no words' after the loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.
It is unclear whether Amad was remarking on the team's performance, but Neville is adamant the winger was taking a swipe at his team-mate.
Amad Diallo's Snapchat Post
Neville said: "If you think about Amad Diallo's Snapchat: 'You're a f*****g disgrace!' That's at his team-mate, so they're obviously launching at each other. Martinez has gone rogue, but so has Amad."
"I think that's what's happening here, that's the dynamic and that can only be a good thing for Michael Carrick, because you're looking at it and thinking it needs something, it needs somebody to start fighting, it needs a rocket up it," Neville continued.
"Maybe that's the turning point. Maybe Lisandro Martinez has done the best motivational speech that he's ever done for Manchester United on Tuesday night, maybe he's done them a favour."
