England have been drawn against Spain and Croatia in the inaugural UEFA Nations League. The Three Lions were placed in Group A4 following Wednesday's draw in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The competition replaces traditional international friendlies and will be played across September, October and November. Teams will face each group opponent home and away, with group winners earning promotion and bottom-placed teams facing relegation.
Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Scotland will also take part in the new format. The four group winners in League A will progress to the 'Fab Four' tournament in the summer of 2019, which will consist of semi-finals played over one leg and a final.
In a separate development, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko has confirmed that beer will be sold at World Cup stadiums and fan zones. Russia hosts the tournament from June 14 to July 15 across 11 cities.
