Native Instinct is tipped to improve on his recent return to action and land the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap (5.10) at Carlisle on Monday. The Ed Bethell-trained four-year-old, a son of Night Of Thunder, failed to win in seven starts in 2025 but showed promise on his comeback after 187 days off, finishing second as a well-backed 2-1 favourite.
Native Instinct led entering the final quarter mile at Hamilton Park but was headed close home by one-length victor Quiet Resolve. The form of that race has held up well, and he runs from the same handicap mark of 74. The step back from a mile to a stiff seven furlongs is not expected to be an issue, and the top weight looks poised to go one better.
At Windsor, Redorange is expected to gain compensation for an unlucky run at York on Thursday when he takes on 10 opponents in the Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap (5.40). Clive Cox's speedster didn't get a clear run when finishing eighth of 21 to Jakajaro in a valuable five-furlong handicap. Sprinters usually have no problem backing up quickly, and with Cox in form, Rossa Ryan's mount makes plenty of appeal.
