Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell displayed his remarkable athleticism during Sunday's Game 7 against the Toronto Raptors, but his effort sent him crashing into several fans. The Cavaliers were dominating the Raptors in the fourth quarter of the decisive first-round playoff game, leading by 20 points late in the contest.
With the game well in hand, Mitchell attempted to disrupt a quick pass up the court. The pass from Jamison Battle was launched high, intended for Scottie Barnes. Mitchell leaped and managed to tip the ball out of bounds. However, his momentum carried him forward, and he had no time to stop his landing.
Mitchell's energy propelled him directly into the fans seated courtside, diving straight into the third row. He became stuck among the seats, with his legs caught in a chair. NBC color commentator Reggie Miller came to his aid, helping Mitchell get back onto the court. The crowd at Rocket Arena applauded Mitchell once he was free, and he was not injured from the incident.
Mitchell finished the game with 22 points and three rebounds, tying with teammate Jarrett Allen, who also scored 22 points and added 19 rebounds for a double-double. The Cavaliers won the game 114-102. For the Raptors, Scottie Barnes led with 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, while RJ Barrett contributed 23 points.
With the victory, the Cavaliers advance to the next round of the playoffs, where they will face the rival Detroit Pistons.
