It's back on, it's back on!' he exclaimed. When host Gary Lineker pointed out the gap was the same as before the weekend, Richards insisted: 'No, no, no! Manchester City have won at Anfield... The last time they beat them was during the Covid pandemic. Something is happening!'
City had trailed to Dominik Szoboszlai's stunning free-kick before Bernardo Silva equalised in the 84th minute. Erling Haaland then converted a penalty after Alisson fouled Matheus Nunes, despite a late VAR controversy ruling out a potential Liverpool equaliser.
