Medvedev's travel troubles began when he flew from Palm Springs International Airport to Florida following his loss to Sinner. Upon arrival, he discovered that none of his bags had made the journey with him. Taking to the social media platform X, the 30-year-old athlete posted a direct message to the airline.
'Hi @united…need a little help. Flew from PSP to Florida yesterday and none of my bags arrived. Kind of need them to play in the @MiamiOpen…. can you help?' Medvedev wrote, highlighting the time-sensitive nature of the situation with the tournament just days away.
United Airlines' Response
United Airlines responded promptly to Medvedev's public plea, acknowledging the issue and requesting further details privately. On X, the airline stated: 'Hi there, Daniil. Thank you for reaching out. We are sorry to hear about your delayed baggage. We absolutely understand how important it is to have your belongings as quickly as possible. This luggage incident occurs shortly after Medvedev's significant victory over rival Carlos Alcaraz at Indian Wells, which ended the Spanish star's unbeaten run for the calendar year.
