Mbeumo likened to Salah after scoring in Man United draw

Bryan Mbeumo has been compared to Mohamed Salah after scoring for Manchester United in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham. The summer signing from Brentford opened the scoring, taking his tally to five goals in five appearances against Spurs and six in 12 games since his £71m move.

The Cameroon international has become Ruben Amorim's top scorer this season. Former players Peter Crouch and Owen Hargreaves have both praised his displays, with Crouch saying he has been impressed for years and calling Mbeumo a 'killer' at Brentford, sharp and clinical in front of goal.

Hargreaves went further, drawing comparisons with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. He said Mbeumo's biggest attribute is the quality he delivers, and that the forward reminds him of Salah in and around the box, with a clear picture of what he wants and an unemotional, businesslike approach.

Hargreaves also noted Mbeumo's technical ability, suggesting he does not get enough credit and that he stays calm under the pressure of playing for Old Trafford, unlike other big names who have struggled.

Mbeumo said United's unbeaten run, which has lasted since a defeat to Brentford in September, has boosted confidence. He added that everyone is enjoying it on and off the pitch.
