Martha Stewart Joins Swansea City as Co-Owner Alongside Snoop Dogg and Modrić
Martha Stewart becomes Swansea City co-owner

American business magnate and media personality Martha Stewart has officially become a minority co-owner of Championship side Swansea City. She joins a growing list of celebrity investors that includes rap icon Snoop Dogg and Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić.

A Star-Studded Ownership Group Expands

The 84-year-old Stewart, who built a multi-billion dollar empire in homemaking, cooking, and entertainment, was a guest at the Swansea.com Stadium last Friday. She watched the Swans secure a 2-1 victory over Wrexham in a Sky Bet Championship clash. Photographs from the match showed Stewart grinning as she took in the action from the stands.

Her investment follows the club's stated strategy of raising its international profile to increase revenue streams. This model mirrors the highly publicised and successful takeover of Wrexham by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, which has brought unprecedented attention to the Welsh club.

Quiet January Transfer Window Expected

Despite the influx of high-profile investment, Swansea City has indicated that the January transfer window is likely to be a quiet one for the club. This news was first reported by the BBC.

A club statement explained the reasoning, citing the high number of player changes during the summer 2025 window and head coach Vitor's proficiency in developing young talent. The statement read: "We will, of course, always be looking for ways to strengthen the squad... but given the size of the squad we have already it's likely January will be relatively quiet."

Celebrity Connections and Shared Interests

Stewart is understood to be very close friends with fellow new owner Snoop Dogg. The pair have collaborated on various media projects in the past and were recently pictured together at a prestigious dressage event at the Chateau de Versailles. On that occasion, Snoop Dogg was dressed in full equestrian attire, prompting amused reactions from fans on social media.

Snoop Dogg's foray into sports commentary is also well-documented; he famously provided unconventional and memorable commentary on dressage during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Swans' celebrity ownership group began forming earlier this year, with Croatian midfield maestro Luka Modrić becoming an investor in April. Snoop Dogg's involvement was confirmed a few months later, setting the stage for Martha Stewart's recent entry.
