Manchester United are set to capitalise on the free agent market this summer as manager Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his squad. With Champions League football secured, the club are expected to back Carrick financially, but there are also several high-profile players available without a transfer fee.
Among the options is Real Madrid legend Dani Carvajal, who, at 34, remains determined to continue playing. The right-back has amassed over 450 appearances and six Champions League medals. Meanwhile, former Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos, 29, is also available after leaving Real Madrid, offering Premier League experience.
Bayern Munich departees include the versatile 32-year-old capable of playing full-back or midfield, and 31-year-old Leon Goretzka, who has won seven Bundesliga titles. Goretzka, linked with Arsenal, may seek a move abroad after Germany's World Cup exit.
Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, 26, is another option. He leaves Juventus with 68 goals in four-and-a-half seasons and has been linked with Barcelona and Besiktas. Premier League clubs are also circling for the forward, who has yet to fulfil his immense potential.
Midfield remains a priority for United following Casemiro's exit, with Ederson arriving from Atalanta. Carrick is eager to stamp his authority on the squad, and these free agents could provide shrewd additions alongside new signings.
