Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is set to remain out of action with injury until at least January. The forward has scarcely featured this season due to a persistent shin problem and is now expected to stay on the sidelines for the next two months.
Setback for Carrick
The continued absence of Sesko comes as a significant blow to Michael Carrick as he fights to save his job at Old Trafford. During his interim spell in charge, the Slovenian was a key player and often earned United points with goals off the bench.
He also scored when starting, with one of those goals coming in the 3-2 victory over Liverpool. A collision with the advertising boards in that game caused him to miss the remaining matches, and he has yet to recover from the problem.
Recovery timeline
Sesko is unlikely to play for Manchester United again this year, with his return expected no earlier than January. The club will continue to monitor his progress as the season continues.
