Brandon Williams Leaves Hull City by Mutual Consent

Hull City have terminated the contract of former Manchester United defender Brandon Williams by mutual agreement, allowing him to leave the MKM Stadium. The 25-year-old joined the Tigers on a one-year deal with an option for a second year in the summer after a successful trial, but his stint has been cut short.

Williams struggled to reach the required fitness levels for Championship football, managing only one appearance—a five-minute cameo in a 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in August. He has been sidelined with a calf problem in recent weeks and last featured in a matchday squad on November 25.

The defender had been playing for the Under-21s in an attempt to regain match sharpness, but the club decided to end his stay. Manager Sergej Jakirovic had hoped to give Williams a chance to revive his career after the player received a suspended jail sentence in the summer for a serious driving offence, but the move did not work out.

Williams' departure frees up squad space for Hull City to strengthen during the transfer window. The Tigers have already brought in Paddy McNair, Kieran Dowell, Yu Hirakawa, Toby Collyer, and Lewis Koumas. James Furlong is expected to leave for League Two before the Monday night deadline, while talks continue over David Akintola.
