Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler has secretly married German soap actress Anna Karolin Berger, according to German publication Bild. The couple tied the knot during the international break, after initially keeping their relationship private.
Hurzeler, who has been linked with the Manchester United job, confirmed the news by sharing photographs of the pair at the World Cup, where they watched Germany's second group game against the Ivory Coast in Toronto.
Going Public at the World Cup
In his social media post, Hurzeler wrote: "Great atmosphere supporting @dfb_team this weekend. Looking forward to watching more matches and experiencing the excitement of this World Cup!" The Brighton boss was seen smiling arm in arm with Berger, who also shared snaps of herself beaming in the stands on her Instagram account.
Fans quickly responded to the post, with one commenting: "She is beautiful," while another added: "Already scouting a few players that you will hopefully be training in a few years..."
Berger's Acting Career
Anna Karolin Berger currently stars in the popular German soap opera Sturm der Liebe (Love Storm), having made her on-screen debut in 2017. She has also appeared in a range of German television shows and movies.
According to German media, the couple maintain a long-distance relationship due to their work commitments, which force them to live apart.
Brighton's Strong Start
Hurzeler signed a three-year contract extension in the summer after leading Brighton to an eighth-place finish, which secured a Conference League place for next season. The Seagulls have continued their strong form this campaign, currently sitting third in the Premier League table, behind only Manchester City and Arsenal.
That form has attracted attention from Old Trafford, with the German being linked to the Manchester United job should the club decide to part ways with Michael Carrick.
