Manchester United have joined the race to sign Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara, according to Foot Mercato. Liverpool and Crystal Palace are also interested in the 22-year-old, who is valued at £43m by Monaco.
Camara, who came through the Generation Foot academy that also produced Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr, was part of Senegal's squad at the 2026 World Cup, featuring in all four matches as they were eliminated by Belgium in the round of 32.
Rashford returns to United
Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United after the England international's deep World Cup run with the Three Lions. The MEN suggests the most likely outcome is Rashford being reintegrated at Old Trafford, but there could yet be a twist.
Barcelona had an option to sign the forward for £26m at the end of their loan but let it expire. A similar offer from elsewhere could yet be enough to land Rashford, who previously had a much higher valuation.
United have already spent more than £80m on new midfielders Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, with the former now available after a post-World Cup break. Karl Darlow also joined to add experience in goal, while a number of talented youngsters have moved to Old Trafford.
Radek Vitek was the latest to leave, joining Middlesbrough on a permanent deal not long after Altay Bayindir's loan departure.
Injury concerns and upcoming fixtures
After Saturday's draw with Paris Saint-Germain, attention turns back to the transfer market. More recruits could now be required after Mason Mount and Tom Heaton both picked up injuries in Goteborg.
Michael Carrick's team have two more friendlies on the horizon, against Leeds and AC Milan on neutral ground. They then begin their league campaign at Hull City on August 22.
“We have got a full squad this week in Dublin,” Carrick said. “We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together. Marcus is part of that, and Kobbie [Mainoo] and Lisandro [Martinez]. We look forward to seeing them.”
