Man Utd Exodus: 13 Players Set to Leave, Antony Delighted

Manchester United are bracing for a significant squad overhaul this summer, with up to 13 players potentially leaving Old Trafford as part of a major restructuring under INEOS. The club's immediate focus remains on securing Champions League qualification, but long-term plans are already in motion, including the appointment of a permanent manager.

The number of departures could reach double figures, with high-profile names such as Casemiro expected to leave upon the expiry of his contract. The club is also keen to offload Marcus Rashford, who earns £300,000 per week. Barcelona hold an option to sign Rashford permanently for £26 million, though reports from Spain suggest their enthusiasm for the deal has waned.

Players currently on loan, including Rasmus Hojlund, Jadon Sancho, and Andre Onana, are likely to sever ties with United permanently. The potential departure list also includes Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, Tyrell Malacia, and goalkeepers Radek Vitek and Altay Bayindir. Additionally, several academy products such as Tyler Fredricson, Toby Collyer, and Dan Gore could move on.

Antony Thrives After Leaving United

Antony, who joined Real Betis permanently last summer after a successful loan spell, has described leaving Manchester United as the best decision of his life. The 26-year-old Brazilian, who cost United around £80 million from Ajax, has flourished in Spain, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists this season.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Antony said: "It was one of the best decisions of my life to stay at Betis. I am very happy. My family weighed heavily in the decision. Seeing them happy is important. It makes things lighter on the pitch when the family is well."

Sheringham Backs Carrick for Permanent Role

Teddy Sheringham, a member of United's 1999 Treble-winning squad, has expressed strong support for interim manager Michael Carrick to be given the job permanently. Carrick has revitalised the team following Ruben Amorim's tenure, guiding United to the brink of Champions League qualification.

Sheringham told talkSPORT: "It just shows you what can be done if you've got the right approach. If you get on the right wavelength with players, things turn around very, very quickly. He's had that reaction from him and they've gone on from there. I'd be very disappointed in Man United if they didn't give Michael Carrick the job. I think he's been fantastic since he's gone in there."

While United's hierarchy have been impressed by Carrick, a final decision will not be made until the end of the season. Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly on the club's radar as an alternative.
