Manchester United could seal as many as seven transfers this week, with Michael Carrick and INEOS reshaping the squad for the upcoming campaign. Three senior signings have already arrived, but further incomings and outgoings are expected before the season begins later this month.
Among the names being considered is Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly, who may become available following the Gunners' move for Bruno Guimaraes.
Lewis-Skelly interest revived
United previously opted not to act on their interest in the 19-year-old, but The Independent reports that they are now exploring whether a deal is feasible. Lewis-Skelly saw limited action last season before establishing himself in midfield, yet the potential arrival of Guimaraes could push him back down the pecking order.
For Arsenal, any sale would register as pure profit under Financial Fair Play regulations. The deal would be challenging to broker, but circumstances could align.
Midfield target and Rashford swap
United's midfield has already been overhauled with Tielemans and Santos, but another addition is still wanted. Roma's Manu Kone, who impressed for France at the World Cup, is a target. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marcus Rashford could move in the opposite direction to help the deal happen.
Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, who declined to activate a £26m buy option. He could stay at United, but neither the club nor the player favour that outcome. Roma need a winger but face FFP restrictions, making a swap arrangement potentially attractive. Kone is valued at £51m.
Youngsters set to depart
Four United youngsters have been deemed expendable, including Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek. The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bristol City, has drawn considerable interest and a permanent exit looks increasingly likely.
Left-back Harry Amass has impressed when deputising for Luke Shaw in pre-season, but Championship clubs are circling and United are said to value him at around £6m. His representatives are weighing up options, with Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui above him in the pecking order.
Midfielder Dan Gore, who spent last term at Rotherham United, has been told his best chances of game time this season lie with the Under-21s. A suitable bid could see him leave, with Middlesbrough mentioned as a potential destination.
Fellow academy graduate Toby Collyer, on loan at Hull City last season, could also be sold permanently if the right offer arrives. He is keen on senior football and has been identified as a future established Premier League player.
