Manchester United will break tradition by debuting their 2026-27 home kit in the final two Premier League matches of the current season. The new shirt will be worn against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford, in what will be United's last home game, and then in the season finale away to Brighton on 24 May.
The decision marks a departure from the club's usual practice, though it follows a growing trend among top clubs. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all showcased new kits in their final home games in recent years, while Bayern Munich wore their 2026-27 home strip in a Champions League semi-final this week.
Manufactured by Adidas as part of a £900 million deal running until 2035, the red shirt features a collar and is inspired by United's 1970s kits, with the classic three stripes on the sleeves. The away kit is expected to be blue with white and red trim, reminiscent of the third kit used between 1986 and 1988, while the third shirt is rumoured to be off-white with a devil emblem on the chest.
Manager Michael Carrick's future remains uncertain, with formal talks yet to take place. However, his impressive record of 10 wins in 13 games has made him the favourite for the permanent role. Carrick commented, 'It's not about what I like or what I do not like. It's not in my control.'
