Homeless Man Arrested After Woman's Body Found Near Geelong Beach Restaurant
A 53-year-old homeless man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman whose body was discovered near a popular beach restaurant in Geelong, Victoria.

The body of a 49-year-old woman was found near the Eastern Beach Pavilion in Geelong, southwest of Melbourne, at approximately 11.25am on Wednesday. A member of the public made the grim discovery and immediately alerted lifeguards at the scene.
Lifeguards promptly initiated CPR in an attempt to revive the woman until emergency services arrived. Despite their efforts, the woman could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the location.

Victoria Police confirmed on Wednesday night that officers had arrested a 53-year-old man in the Geelong Central Business District. The man, described as having no fixed address, is currently being interviewed by detectives in relation to the woman's death.
