Manchester United's squad and backroom team reportedly believe Amazon Prime's documentary cameras may be contributing to their underwhelming start to the season. The Red Devils are the subject of the latest edition of All or Nothing, the behind-the-scenes series, following an agreement valued at over £10 million.
A film crew is tracking Michael Carrick's team throughout the 2025-26 campaign, and there has already been considerable drama. United's challenging summer transfer period has been followed by a sequence of disappointing results and a controversial interview from Lisandro Martinez last week.
Cameras a 'pain' in dressing room
With just two victories from 10 matches, the latest being a 1-1 draw at Leeds, Carrick is facing mounting scrutiny only weeks into his first campaign as the club's full-time manager. However, some believe Amazon may be responsible.
The Sun claim that both squad members and staff suspect their colleagues are biting their tongues during post-match debriefs, knowing they are being recorded. The cameras are characterised as a 'pain' and there is a perception that 'punches are being pulled'.
Carrick's response to cameras
In August, Carrick was questioned about having the cameras present. "That's been fine," the United manager responded. "It's obviously a little bit new, and unique, but the actual day-to-day workings of it, we have that many cameras around anyway that the boys are kind of half-used to it."
"We've got to work through it, of course, but they've been respectful. It probably seems bigger from the outside than it is day-to-day when we're working in it."
Struggles continue at Leeds
Circumstances appear to have shifted within United's inner circle now that the campaign is fully underway. Their struggles persisted on Sunday away to Leeds, but Carrick remained positive despite failing to grab all three points in an improved performance at Elland Road.
"[It's been] quite quiet inside [the club] – the headphones have been on this week," Carrick said. "It felt like a bit of a fresh start today – where we're at and accepting it and doing something about it. That didn't surprise me today. We're not getting too carried away because we haven't won the game, but if you keep doing the right things for the right reasons then you get what you deserve in the end."
"It definitely shows that the boys are desperate to do well for each other as much as anything else and how much they appreciate playing for this club, because there was a real purpose to the group over the last couple of days and they took it on the pitch. There was an edge to the game, an intensity. I spoke to the boys this morning about the history and what it means to the supporters, the club, to us coming over here into the territory."
