Darren Fletcher's interim reign at Manchester United began with a 2-2 draw against Burnley, as Benjamin Sesko's double was cancelled out by an own goal and a late Jaidon Anthony strike.
Burnley took the lead in the 13th minute when Ayden Heaven turned Bashir Humphreys' cross into his own net. United struggled to respond until the second half, when Sesko equalised with a right-foot blast past Martin Dubravka after being set up by Bruno Fernandes.
The Slovenian striker struck again with a low volley from Patrick Dorgu's cross, giving United the lead. However, Burnley fought back, and Jaidon Anthony scored a memorable equaliser to earn a point for the visitors.
Sesko, who doubled his season tally with the two goals, said: 'It’s been tough but now I finally did it. Now it’s just up to me and up to us to keep going like that.'
Fletcher, the 13th manager since Sir Alex Ferguson, confirmed he will remain in charge for Sunday's FA Cup tie against Brighton. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is the slight favourite to take over permanently.
