Man Utd 1-1 PSG: Mbeumo and Amad shine, injuries strike

Manchester United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in their pre-season friendly in Sweden. The reigning European champions took the lead inside two minutes through Ibrahim Mbaye, who finished off a sweeping team move from close range. United settled and dominated possession, with Bryan Mbeumo equalising with a fine strike into the bottom corner from just inside the box. Both sides made numerous changes in the second half, but no further goals were scored.

Injuries mar the occasion

The Red Devils did not emerge unscathed, as Mason Mount and Tom Heaton were forced off either side of half-time. Mount was substituted early after picking up a knock, with Michael Carrick taking no chances, while Heaton pulled his hamstring in the second half and was replaced by Dermot Mee.

Player ratings

Tom Heaton - 6: Handed a start with Senne Lammens still recovering from illness. Pulled his hamstring in the second half and was replaced.

Noussair Mazraoui - 5: Could have done more to stop the cross that led to the opening goal. Fared better going forward with a few dangerous crosses.

Harry Maguire - 7: Defended reasonably well and used his passing to start attacks from the very back, finding the wingers on several occasions.

Ayden Heaven - 4: Lost the run of Mbaye in the build-up to the opening goal and was booked for a clumsy challenge on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Not great.

Luke Shaw - 5: Too slow to track back for the first goal, jogging instead of making a real effort to get there. Did okay apart from that.

Andrey Santos - 6: Raced back to snuff out a dangerous counter-attacking move. Kept things ticking in the middle of the park with simple passes.

Mason Mount - n/a: Substituted early on after picking up a knock with Michael Carrick taking no chances. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Patrick Dorgu - 6: Started on the left wing before switching to the right. Used his tricky feet to beat defenders but lacked a killer final ball.

Amad - 8: Pressed brilliantly to win the ball before feeding Mbeumo for the equaliser. Another strong display, unplayable at times.

Shea Lacey - 7: Impressed with his range of passing in the final third to pick out team-mates in dangerous positions.

Bryan Mbeumo - 8: Equalised with a sweetly-struck effort into the bottom corner. Forced a number of strong saves in search of another goal.

Substitutes

Tyler Fletcher - 6: Played most of the game after replacing Mount early in the first half. Looked composed on the ball but didn't exactly stand out.

Leny Yoro - 6: Introduced at the break, replacing Heaven. Looks set to compete with the English youngster for a starting spot this season.

Diogo Dalot - 6: Came on for the second half with Mazraoui making way. Had a decent game at both ends of the pitch.

Dermot Mee - 6: Called into action to replace Heaton between the sticks. Didn't see a great deal of action with United the better team in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes - 7: Was given just under half an hour and immediately took control in the middle of the park, nearly scoring with an attempted pass that trickled wide of the post.

Youri Tielemans - 6: Received a warm reception as he came on for his United debut. Looked promising on the transition from defence to attack.

Harry Amass - 6: Got a run out despite reportedly being available for transfer. Lively going forward, getting himself involved as United pushed for a winner.

Joshua Zirkzee - 6: Put himself about in the final third and should have won a free-kick when he got clattered by the goalkeeper near the halfway line.

Jack Fletcher - 6: Joined his twin brother on the pitch with 25 minutes remaining. Squandered a late chance to score from point-blank range.
