Leroy Sane Involved in Oktoberfest Brawl After Being Taunted by Bayern Fans

Former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with a fan during Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich on Sunday evening. The 29-year-old, now playing for Galatasaray, was taunted by a group of Bayern Munich supporters at the Weinzelt tent around 11pm local time.

Sane, who left Bayern for Galatasaray this summer, said he was provoked when fans chanted 'Scheiß Gala' (Shitty Galatasaray). He told Bild: 'I was provoked and personally humiliated for a long time in the festival tent. Galatasaray was also insulted. In the tense atmosphere, I was pushed, and then a brief fight broke out.'

Eyewitnesses reported that some taunts 'crossed into racist territory,' according to Goal. Sane initially tried to ignore the chants but eventually confronted the group, leading to a brief scuffle before security intervened.

Sane spent four years at Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles, before joining Bayern Munich in 2020 for up to £55 million. He left Bayern as a free agent this summer and joined Galatasaray, where he has one goal and three assists in nine appearances.

Despite the incident, Sane acknowledged he should have remained calm. 'Of course, I should have been calmer at the time and ignored the situation. I learned from it,' he said.
