Maddison available as Tottenham host Crystal Palace in Premier League
Maddison available for Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

James Maddison is available for selection as Tottenham host Crystal Palace in the Premier League today.

The No10 was instrumental as Spurs secured their first win away over rivals Chelsea for eight years last weekend, but had to come off early in the second half with what appeared to be a worrying groin injury.

De Zerbi confirms Maddison fitness

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi initially downplayed fears that Maddison had suffered another significant problem, and confirmed on Friday that he would be in contention to face Palace.

Destiny Udogie, meanwhile, has missed Tottenham's last two games with a knee injury picked up during the 1-1 draw with Manchester United earlier this month. Ahead of Spurs' 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, De Zerbi said that Udogie was still feeling pain in his knee, but his compatriot is fit to face Palace.

Other team news and absentees

Chelsea loanee Mykhailo Mudryk is still sidelined with an ankle injury that he picked up in training in September, while Tosin Adarabioyo remains out after missing a quick reunion with his former club due to a lingering calf issue.

On Lucas Bergvall, who also picked up a knee injury against Manchester United, De Zerbi initially said he would be out for around two weeks. This fixture comes too soon for the Swedish midfielder.

Summer signing Savio misses out again with an unspecified muscular issue, while Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert both remain long-term absentees.

Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the final game of his three-match ban after he was sent off for a late headbutt on Luke Shaw during a feisty draw at Old Trafford.
