Luke Littler's World Grand Prix Win Raises £10,000 for MND Charity

Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has ensured a £10,000 donation to the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association following his World Grand Prix victory. The 17-year-old beat rival Luke Humphries 6-1 in the final at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

The donation was part of a campaign by tournament sponsor Boylesports, which pledged £20 for every double 20 hit during the event. A total of 404 doubles were struck, with Littler contributing 78. Boylesports rounded the sum up to £10,000, and as winner, Littler chose the MND Association as the beneficiary.

The charity supports people with motor neuron disorders and funds research into a cure. Several sports figures have been affected, including rugby league legend Rob Burrow and former England rugby union player Lewis Moody, who announced his diagnosis last week.

Littler, a rugby league fan, previously wore the MND Association logo on his shirt during the 2024 Premier League season. He praised the fundraising efforts of Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, saying: 'The MND Association are doing so much important work.'

After his World Grand Prix win, Littler competed in the World Youth Championships, reaching the semi-finals before losing to women's world number one Beau Greaves. He posted on social media: 'I had two 10-dart legs, missed double 12 for a nine and still couldn't win. Fair play to Beau.'
